This ancient Chinese process was developed over 6,000 years ago.
Cloisonne badges have the greatest perceived value and jewellery like finish.
Derived from mineral ore the colours can last 100’s of years. Your design is firstly stamped into brass and then the recessed areas are filled by hand with coloured cloisonne. The badge is then fired at 800°C for two to four minutes per colour and finally hand polished to a high lustre. Each colour is separated by a thin strip of gold or silver.
Hard Enamel Cloisonne badges are more suitable for small quantities
and when an exceptionally high jewellery like finish is needed.
